The Museum Trust is a registered charity (Reg No 298229) that exists to perpetuate the memory of the Battle of Britain and to interest and educate present and future generations by means of a collection and reference library.
The Museum is registered with the Museum, Libraries and Archives Council (MLA) (Reg. No. 1991), the governing body, and on the 22nd September 2010 was confirmed as an accredited museum. Accreditation is awarded to institutions that can prove they work to a minimum acceptable standard, while looking to improve working practices; for example, in collection care and education. In addition, it allows the Museum to apply to various sources for funding. It is an acknowledgement of the good work carried out by the Trust and Museum volunteer staff.
Donations are very gratefully received. Not only because they let us know that we enjoy the support and interest of our visitors but also because, like many charities, we can claim Gift Aid support which could add an additional 20% to our donated income.
